BACKGROUND

Playright Children’s Play Association (Playright) is a charity organization founded by Mrs. Ma Tang in Hong Kong in 1987, with the mission of “Value children, Value play.” Playright advocates the value of play and seeks the commitment of all sectors in the society to respond to the play needs of every child in terms of policy setting, planning, and supply provision. Its goal is to establish a society that respects, protects, and realizes children’s play rights, allowing children to enjoy their childhood.

PROJECT
SUMMARY

We designed and launched the organization’s website, which mainly provides the latest news and various service information. The website adopts accessibility web design and meets the World Wide Web Consortium’s “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)” 2.0 AA standards, providing a better user experience to a wider public when they browse the website.

With more and more attention to people with disabilities in the society, the government is also keen on establishing standards and promoting web accessibility. In fact, accessible web design brings many benefits to businesses that include:

• Establishing a positive corporate image and contributing to the promotion of a caring and inclusive community
• Adopting good coding guidelines for accessibility design makes online services easier to maintain and can save time and money in the long run
• Making online services more user-friendly and easier to search can effectively improve the website’s performance in search engine ranking results.
